Continuing Education and Fitness Workshops ACE Practical Training Course -- 1.5 ACE
The American Council on Exercise complete practical training course exploring the following modules: Music and Cueing, Choreographic Skills, Flexibility, Resistance Training and Class Design. Each module may be provided individually for .3 credits each.
For Every Body Fitness 101: The Basics of Aerobics -- .8 ACE
This eight hour workshop is designed to educate the novice or expert instructor in all the basics of aerobic training. This program teaches education and movement theory, then follows through with choreography and strength training practicals. FEBF: 101 explores fitness instruction, from both teacher and participant perspectives. Subjects covered include: Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Anatomy, Physiology, Music, Class Format and Business Issues. FEBF: 101 will educate and refresh any instructor with accurate and current professional fitness information.
Golden Aerobics: The Deconditioned Population -- .3 ACE
Golden Aerobics is a workshop designed to educate the fitness professional (aerobics and/or trainer) who is working, or thinking about working with the deconditioned population. Special attention is paid to Biomechanics, Senior Physiology, Kinesthetic Awareness, Pharmaceutical and Psychological effect of exercise on the elderly. Business aspects of starting a senior program will also be detailed. This workshop will broaden the parameters of any new or seasoned fitness professional.
Special Populations: Eight Case Studies -- .3 ACE
This workshop takes the participant through eight workouts with an experienced Kinesiologist. It will educate the Instructor and/or Personal Trainer on the diverse and interesting aspects of working with special populations. Case studies include, Obesity, Pregnancy, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Brachial Radial Plexus, Osteoporosis and more.
Total Sports Conditioning -- .3 ACE
This course is designed to educate the fitness instructor and personal trainer on the versatility of sports specific conditioning. Each participant will participate and develop a sports conditioning format while exploring the Step, Cardio Boxing, Jump Rope and more.
Introduction to Cardio Boxing -- .2 ACE
This is a basic training course for the instructor interested in how to incorporate sports specific programming to their teaching format. Introduction to Cardio Boxing is designed for the beginner, and details the basics of this popular form of aerobic conditioning. Focus will be made on Class format, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Safety and CV Conditioning. Low Budget? Details will be given for working with or without equipment.
Hot Stepper -- .2 ACE
This step workshop is designed to dazzle the instructor with fresh new choreography. The course is designed to enhance intensity while targeting proper form and safety.
The Dynaband Workout -- .1 ACE
This one hour workshop is designed to educate Aerobics Instructors and Personal Trainers on the proper use and diversity of training with Dynabands or other type of elastic resistance. A workout of all major muscle groups will be performed incorporating music and muscle. Emphasis is placed on Biomechanical Safety and Muscular Endurance.
